<P align=left><STRONG>友人毛××曾治一少年吐血証。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>其人向經醫者治愈，旋又反複。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>毛××診其脈弦而有力，知其為沖胃之氣上逆也。</STRONG></P>
<P align=left><STRONG></STRONG>&nbsp;</P>
<P align=left><STRONG>遂於治吐血方中，重用半夏、赭石以降逆，白芍、牡蠣（不）以斂沖瀉熱，又加人參以補其中氣，使中氣健旺以斡旋諸藥成功。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>有從前為治愈之醫者在座，頗疑半夏不可用，毛××力主服之。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>一劑血止，再劑脈亦和平，醫者訝為異事。</STRONG></P>
<P align=left><STRONG></STRONG>&nbsp;</P>
<P align=left><STRONG>毛××曉知曰︰“此証乃下元虛損，沖氣因虛上逆，並迫胃氣亦上逆，脈似有力而非真有力，李士材四字脈訣所謂︰直上直下，衝脈昭昭者，即此謂也。</STRONG></P>
<P align=left><STRONG></STRONG>&nbsp;</P>
<P align=left><STRONG>若誤認此脈為實熱，而恣用苦寒之藥涼其血分，血分因涼而凝，亦可止而不吐，而異日瘀血為恙，竟成勞瘵者多矣。</STRONG></P>
<P align=left><STRONG></STRONG>&nbsp;</P>
<P align=left><STRONG>今方中用赭石、半夏以鎮沖氣，使之安其故宅，而即用白芍、牡蠣以斂而固之，使之永不上逆。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>夫血為氣之配，氣為血之主，氣安而血自安矣，此所以不治吐血，而吐血自止也。</STRONG></P>

<P align=left><STRONG>況又有人參之大力者，以參贊諸藥，使諸藥之降者、斂者，皆得有所憑借以成功乎。”</STRONG></P>
